Updated DetectiMed Panel Features Improved Cut-Off Levels

2011-12-14

We at AIT continually evaluate our DetectiMed® Panel to ensure we are providing the highest quality and most current information to our clients so that you can make the best healthcare decisions for your patients. As a result, we are pleased to report that several improvements to our blood and urine panels became effective on December 12, 2011. Some of those improvements include:

Urine and Blood Panels

  • Carisoprodol and Meprobamate: The confirmation cut-off level for carisoprodol and meprobamate has been lowered from 2.5 μg/mL to 1.25 μg/mL to improve sensitivity.

Blood Panel Only

  • Barbiturates: The screening cut-off level for all of the drugs in the barbiturates class has been changed to 50 ng/mL to improve sensitivity.
  • Benzodiazepines: The screening cut-off level for all of the drugs in the benzodiazepines class has been changed to 5 ng/mL to improve sensitivity.
  • Buprenorphine: The screening cut-off level for buprenorphine and norbuprenorphine has been lowered to 1 ng/mL to improve sensitivity.
  • Fentanyl: The screening cut-off level for fentanyl has been lowered to 0.5 ng/mL to improve sensitivity.

A number of other changes have been made to the panel based on an evaluation of drug usage patterns from around the nation and in light of significant enhancements recently made to our laboratory processes and instrumentation.
