AIT Ranks in Top 25 For “Best Places to Work in Indiana”

AIT Laboratories ranked 22 on a list of the "Best Places to Work in Indiana" in the large company category. On May 6, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce announced the rankings at a gala event at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis. Seventy companies statewide were honored at the event, which celebrates strong workplace practices that are rooted in respect, teamwork, and good communication. This is the first year AIT competed in the large company category. In 2009, AIT ranked in the top 10 for small- to medium-sized companies.

"AIT continues to experience tremendous growth and the success, which is due to our great employees," said President and CEO Michael A. Evans, Ph.D. "Culture continues to be a central focus for the company. In 2009, AIT became an ESOP, because employees are the reason we have stayed competitive and successful for more than 20 years."

In 2009, AIT implemented more than 100 new cultural initiatives to benefit employees. Among those were new wellness initiatives, an all-expense-paid cruise to the Caribbean for three top employees, massages, a racing circuit, and a PC purchase program.

Carmel-based Software Engineering Professionals (SEP) took top honors in the small- to medium-sized employer category while Centier Bank from northwest Indiana was awarded first place among large employers.
