Giving back to the communities in which it serves is at the core of AIT’s culture. Employees are given time off from work to volunteer and are provided with matching funds to give to their favorite charities. AIT is so committed to giving back that it has formed a Contributions Committee and sets aside a portion of its revenues each month to designate to various charities and organizations.
Here are only a few of the organizations that AIT and its employees support:
AIT was once again a proud sponsor of the Hoosier Science and Engineering Fair in April. In addition, AIT sponsors a team of up-and-coming young scientists to compete at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Reno, Nevada in May. Caroline Trippel and Caitlyn Koscielski from Marian High School in Mishawaka, Ind. will present their project titled “Can Mass Spectra be Obtained Directly from a TLC Separation of Lipids from Mycrobacterium Avium?”
Nearly 100 employees from AIT Laboratories participated in the annual “Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure” in downtown Indianapolis in April. The Race for the Cure supports breast cancer research. More than 40,000 people attended this year’s race, making it one of the largest in the nation. In Atlanta, AIT Account Executive Alicia Cimino raised more than $3,000 and competed in the “Race for the Cure” in her city.
At AIT, we take the wellness of our employees seriously. This year, the company has designated ten charity races for employees and their families to participate in. Many of the events, including the “Race for the Cure,” “Best Buddies,” “Outrun the Sun,” and “Race Away from Domestic Violence,” will each receive a $500 donation from AIT. AIT pays the entrance fees to the events for employees and a spouse or significant other.
AIT employees are always eager to compete, and so this year as part of “March Madness,” AIT employees held an auction to bid on their favorite teams competing in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Professional auctioneer Darin Lawson of Wickliff and Associates Auctioneers conducted the event. More than $5,500 was raised and matched by the company and was donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis. Members of the AIT Contributions Committee visited a club near their headquarters to present the check and get a tour of the facility.
To help launch the construction of AIT’s new pharmaceutical testing laboratory, employees participated in the demolition by donating $1 per swing to take a whack at the wall. AIT employees raised $250, which was matched by T&W Corporation, the contractors on the new project. Proceeds from the event were donated to Habitat for Humanity.
AIT Laboratories supports charities and organizations that are involved in education, science, research, health, arts and culture, and community outreach. If you are interested in seeking a donation from AIT Laboratories, please contact:
