Technology

Get accurate toxicology results the first time – every time

 Tecan Evo Genesis
What good is a laboratory if you can’t trust your test results? Our technology is more sensitive, selective and diverse than most testing labs in the country, providing heightened consistency, fast turnaround times and positive ID and quantitation of drugs that would otherwise go undetected.

Intelligent use of technology doesn’t end with instrumentation. Liquid handlers such as the Tecan Evo Genesis, automated results posting and data analysis using ASCENT from Indigo Biosystems and paperless information sharing means our scientists are freed from mundane, repetitive tasks to focus on innovation and quality.

GCMS-0737-2GC/MS (Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry)

The most established piece of equipment in forensic toxicology, GC/MS identifies drugs based on signature fragments of the drug molecule and allows for efficient separation of sample components.

UPLC-0751-2 UPLC-MS/MS (Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry/Mass Spectrometry)

UPLC-MS/MS offers faster separations and less sample prep than GC/MS. Tandem mass spectrometry filters the intact drug molecule from the rest of the sample and then breaks the molecule apart to detect the signature fragments. This allows for a more targeted ID and is ideal for quantitative analysis.

UPLC/ToFUPLC/ToF (Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography/Time-of-Flight)

UPLC/ToF combines the efficiency of the UPLC with the scanning sensitivity of the ToF. Together they produce the largest spectral library database in North America, boasting the ability to identify more than 300 compounds in a single run. The key standout element of the ToF is its greater separation power between masses and its detection of an entire range of masses nearly simultaneously. This unique function makes ToF ideal for unknown forensic screening.

AIT has the largest spectral library database in North America using ToF and can identify all substances in a single test (UPLC/ToF).
